Pariswomen Visit New York

Join us when we travel to New York for a luxurious weekend in March. We will stay at the beautiful Roosevelt Hotel, central to everything that we could wish to experience on our glamorous spring get-away.

On our first day in Manhattan we will enjoy lunch at the famous Train Bleu at Bloomingdale’s before doing some serious shopping at this 59th Street flagship store.

The opulent Frick Collection is our destination on Saturday morning. Here we will view the priceless collection of Henry Clay Frick exhibited in a residential setting amid the furnishing of his beautiful mansion.

Saturday evening we will have the option of experiencing a Broadway show, jazz at a cabaret or supper club such as the Café Carlyle or a dance or musical evening. The choice is yours.

A walking tour of Upper East Side is planned for Sunday morning with a local guide. This is where New York society moved at the turn of the last century and stayed. Beautiful Beaux-Arts mansions in this district are now museums and embassies. We will walk by grand apartment buildings on Fifth and Park avenues and chic shops and galleries on Madison Avenue. We have allotted plenty of time for you to visit your favourite places. Some research in the Sunday New York Times closer to our departure will provide other options.

Friday

Depart Toronto Pearson Airport.
Arrive LaGuardia Airport.
Transfer to the Roosevelt Hotel.

Check in, or leave bags & check in later.
Walk to Bloomingdales for lunch at the Train Bleu.
Shop.
Dinner: meet in lobby at 7pm to walk to dinner.

Saturday

The Frick Museum.

Additional options: The Metropolitan Museum or the Museum of Modern Art.
Shopping.
Evening: Dinner/Jazz at the Cafe Carlyle (additional cost).
Other options and suggestions: Broadway plays, Feinsteins’s at Loews Regency, Carnegie Hall concert, Metropolitan Opera, Radio City Music Hall, Birdland.

Sunday

A.M. Walking Tour of the Upper East Side.
Free afternoon.
Transfer to Airport.

The cost of this trip is $1590 plus $120 taxes and includes:

Airfare from Toronto and return
Transfer to hotel on arrival on Friday and to airport for departure on Sunday
Two night’s hotel accommodation inclusive of hotel taxes
Single room at the Roosevelt Hotel. A double room will be $1295 and a triple room will be $1210 per person
